The Institute works with firms and
individuals driven by the need to learn more about the critical and evolving technology
management interface in all its diverse permutations.
Such firms and individuals, including those taking part in the various learning programs
offered by the Institute, are considered real partners in the value-creation process of the
Institute. For example, in the course of learning-program activities, participants are encouraged
to collaborate with faculty in developing material useful in other activities of the Institute.
The Institute Sponsor Program encourages corporations from diverse industries that have strategic business interests
in NewMedia, Telecommunications, Internet/Intranet technologies, and other issues relating to the
interface of management and technology to take part in, and benefit from, the research and teaching
programs at the Institute.
The Corporate affiliation comes with obligations. We expect our affiliates to be actively involved in the research and learning activities undertaken by
the Institute, and to add value to the Institute, just as they expect the Institute to add value to them.
We intentionally keep our Corporate Sponsorships limited. Each expects, and receives, significant attention from the Institute.
Educational Programs may be held for specific Sponsors, for Sponsors in specific industries, or for the
corporate public at large. At each event held by the Institute, you will find senior executives and
technology decision makers as active participants.
While research results are made public by the Institute, Corporate Sponsors obtain many benefits that are not available to the public:
The Institute faculty will work with sponsors to jointly identify issues of mutual criticality and
relevance which may then become subjects for research and development.
Benefits include:
- Corporate sponsors enjoy early, ongoing, and unique access to relevant state-of-the-art concepts,
ideas, and findings.
- The Institute can provide a "gateway" into advanced practices and business environments. Our
"Silicon Alley" location and our activities in New York's multimedia industry serve as entry points and
communication channels.
- The Institute and its Sponsors will undertake joint and targeted work with the significant members
of industry value chains: suppliers, customers, providers, and others.
- Events and seminars may be semi-customized for Sponsors.
- Sponsors receive preferential access to advanced and on-going "public" programs.
The Institute's activities, and its joint activities with partner institutions, provide a vehicle
and a forum for world-wide advanced collaboration and learning.
The Institute's focus, its explicit commitment to furthering the high-level integration of technology
and enterprise, is of core strategic relevance to our Sponsors.
We are pleased to have Merrill Lynch and EDS as our founding Corporate Sponsors.
