Round Table Series

The Emerging Impact of New Media and Push Technologies on Corporate Decision Making

Held on May 15, 1997

This Round Table took an in-depth, original look at the impact of new media and Push technologies on modern decision making. The discussion was based on original research and development, in addition to presentations by leading practitioners from a variety of industries and businesses.

At the time of this event, Push was often portrayed as the "next big thing". But the Round Table discussion that took place indicated a more complex situation. Among other things, the written and "live" case studies highlighted difficult operational issues associated with implementing Push technologies across the board. They also demonstrated why, subsequently, Push played a more targeted and less grandiose role than originally conceived by many Push advocates.
