e-Tail: The Future of Selling Online

Author: Bharat Rao

This study focuses on "e-Tailing"--retailing that takes place online on the growing World Wide Web. The case explores a wide range of emerging and important aspects of e-Tailing from 'market-space' and 'mindshare' to 'cookie management' and 'one-click' shopping. The case deals with questions such as:

  • What kinds of challenges do a growing number of firms face competing in the evolving e-Tail arena?;

  • How can e-Tailers do a better job of planning, product development and online execution?;

  • What can established retailers learn from already successful e-Tailers to transform management practices for serving a radically new and different marketplace?

This case is a work in progress. More information and related links can be found here.
