Overview
of the Round Table
This Special Round Table
will consider the key factors required for leading and shaping the Post-September-11
corporation. In order to identify concretely the key parameters of this all-important
subject, Round Table attendees will focus on three broad sectors---all particularly
relevant for the New York City business environment:
- Financial Services
- Media (including publishing, advertising, entertainment, and New Media)
- Telecommunications and Professional Services Providers
Speakers and
participants at this Special Round Table will concentrate on five
fundamental questions:
- Is there a changed corporate
structure in the Post-September-11 world?
- Is the nature of leadership,
decision making, and corporate culture different in the current environment?
- What role will technology play
in transforming the firm to meet the emerging opportunities and threats?
- Has the concept of a "global firm"
been significantly altered?
- What are the essential factors that
corporate leaders of firms must now consider to remain competitive?
All Institute Round Tables, unlike
large conferences and traditional large-scale meetings, strive to be opportunities
for high-level learning. They are explicitly structured to encourage a maximum
amount of interaction and discussion. This tightly scheduled Round Table in
particular is designed to be a unique "action-learning" event. It is organized so
that all attending can participate and contribute:
- Part I consists of a high-level panel of knowledgeable speakers
representing leading firms who will provide the most current and relevant
perspectives and information.
- Part II consists of three parallel "breakout" sessions in which all
attendees will have the opportunity to participate actively in generating
important insights and knowledge.
- Part III consists of everyone regrouping to discuss and derive the
lessons learned.
