Yair Berson

Assistant Professor of Management


Ph.D.in Management, State University of New York at Binghamton.

Dr. Yair Berson received his Ph.D. in Management from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He is currently an assistant professor of management at Polytechnic University.

Dr. Berson was trained in the Center for Leadership Studies, a leading international research center on organizational leadership, with Professor Bruce Avolio and professor Bernard Bass. His dissertation research included a multi-method approach to the measurement of leadership constructs, demonstrating linkages between transformational and strategic leadership. In addition to research from the dissertation, Dr. Berson, with other colleagues, has done research on visionary leadership and on the relationships between leadership and attachment theory, and is pursuing research on cross-cultural leadership at HP, and leadership of high technology corporations.

Dr. Berson has a Master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Haifa in Israel, where he worked as a career counselor, and conducted leadership training with organizations from the high tech industry, as well as military and educational institutions.
